Developmental Assets are personal qualities, experiences, and environmental conditions that help young people mature into healthy, caring, and responsible adults. Schools, families, and communities play a critical role in providing healthy environments and opportunities that nurture and promote this positive youth development. The Search Institute has developed handouts (links below) describing developmental assets at various ages and stages. These asset lists are excellent tools that may help to guide and focus efforts to support children and adolescents in their healthy development.
