First and foremost, it is important that you have or take the time to develop a positive, open, trusting relationship with the children in your care. Kids are always able to learn and grow best in a context in which they feel seen, heard, understood, and safe. Also remember as you work to implement these steps to keep a positive attitude and to role model the behaviors that you hope to see. Your actions will be one of their best teachers.
