COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES Howard Center is the designated community mental health center for Chittenden County and provides a wide array of mental health services to children and families including crisis response, clinic and school based therapy, outreach treatment, family support, and prevention, education, screening, referral, and consultation services are provided in homes, schools and other community based locations.   See below for links to detailed program descriptions.

CHILD AND FAMILY CRISIS SERVICES First Call for Chittenden County provides crisis services for Chittenden County.  The purpose of First Call is to provide a response to children, adults and families who are experiencing a mental health crisis.  The First Call team is located at Howard Center in Burlington.  The program provide services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.  First Call can be reached at 802-488-7777.
INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES Vermont 2-1-1 – is an information and referral resource run by the United Ways of Vermont.  Dial 2-1-1 on your phone to speak with an information and referral specialist who can help you locate appropriate mental health supports and resources or you may link directly to their online database at

THERAPEUTIC GROUPS FOR CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS This Chittenden County Therapeutic Groups for Children and/or Adolescents Database is newly launched in the Fall of 2010.  The database will grow and change as new therapists sign up and as new groups are developed.  Check back often for new therapeutic group opportunities.  If you are a therapist and would like your group listed in this database, click here.
