Winooski Family Center

PROGRAM NAME Winooski Family Center
PROGRAM OVERVIEW The mission of the Winooski Family Center is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children, birth to school age, and their families can receive the support that they need to increase their understanding of child and adult development, promote positive communication and nurturing skills while offering a place to socialize, play, learn, share ideas, and grow. The Winooski Family Center is a one-of-a-kind early childhood resource to the Winooski community.  Its strength lies in its ability to collaborate and bring services to the community that follow best practice and are responsive to the needs and interests of families with young children.
WHO WE SERVE The Winooski Family Center serves families from Winooski and all surrounding Chittenden County communities with children birth through five years old as well as expecting parents. With the exception of our preschool, which has more defined eligibility criteria, all expecting parents and all parents/caregivers with children birth through 5 years are eligible for our services.  Families of 3 and 4 year olds must live in Winooski to be eligible to attend our preschool.
WHERE WE PROVIDE SERVICES The Winooski Family Center offers services out of two locations; our preschool is located in the Winooski Housing Authority development at 87 Elm Street, Winooski while most of our other programs take place at our space at the O’Brien Community Center at 32 Mallets Bay Avenue, Winooski.
