|PROGRAM OVERVIEW||Outpatient Counseling Services provide mental health treatment to individuals, families, couples, and groups within Chittenden County. The primary goal of our Outpatient Counseling Program is to improve the overall quality of life for youth and families seeking our services by providing high quality therapeutic intervention that helps reduce the number and severity of problem areas bringing them to counseling.|
|WHO WE SERVE||Outpatient Counseling Services support children and adolescents, ages 4 through 17 experiencing emotional and/or behavioral difficulties and their families, as well as parents and other caregivers of children being served by CYFS Programs. Services may be extended for youth to age 21 who are still active in the educational system. Outpatient Counseling Services are of most benefit to those individuals and/or families with:
|WHERE WE PROVIDE SERVICES||The Outpatient Counseling Team is based at the Howard Center CYFS building at 1138 Pine Street in Burlington with satellite offices at the Milton Family Community Center and the Jean Garvin School in Williston. We also provide services to students and their families in over 20 schools throughout Chittenden County.|
|WHAT SERVICES WE PROVIDE||The Outpatient Counseling staff is made up of approximately forty Master’s level clinicians with a variety of general skills and specializations offering a wide range of services through our program. Comprehensive individual, couples, and family counseling and therapy services provide professional, confidential, goal-directed counseling and clinical consultation for children and families with a full continuum of mental health related concerns. Immediate Care appointments are available on an as needed basis and arranged at time of initial call or at point of referral completion.
Consultation and Training are offered to the community on a broad continuum of mental health related topics.
|HOW SERVICES ARE FUNDED||Most insurances, including Medicaid, are accepted for our services. A sliding scale fee is available for those uninsured.|
|HOW TO MAKE REFERRALS||Requests for outpatient counseling services (school or clinic based) can be made directly through the CYFS intake line at (802) 488-7777. With parental knowledge, referrals may be made by any source connected to a child or given family. A list of school sites that have therapy services is available by calling 488-7777 or e-mailing the program director at firstname.lastname@example.org.|
